Jay is originally from the Philippines and earned his bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of the Philippines. For his undergraduate research, he developed a narrative instructional game and creation toolkit using interactive learning objects, a web application focusing on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) to bridge the gap between educators and software development. Professionally, Jay moved to Japan, where he contributed significantly to a security service operations team, gaining hands-on experience with Security Operations Center (SOC) protocols. He developed cybersecurity solutions, including Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) systems using Python and streamlined operational processes through automation tools like Ansible. Currently, Jay is part of an R&D team, primarily creating in-house applications and occasionally joining outsourced projects, focusing mostly on product architecture, database design, and backend development. In his free time, he explores Generative AI technologies and actively plans to build tools and features leveraging this cutting-edge field.
